Hi Maarten thanks for another thought provoking piece. Memory is such a slippery beast, I often think about some of my fondest memories and wonder how many of these events actually unfolded the way they did and how many were part fabricated based on how I came to appraise them. It can be a scary thought, but I feel like if you follow this line of reasoning down its logical route it’s an empowering aspect of what it means to be a person. It shows that the way we frame events actually dictates how we conceptualise memories and therefore who we consider ourselves to be today. Peace.
