Hi Katy, thanks so much for reading and for your comment. My goal with this was to give people actionable advice based off of the latest findings emerging from the scientific community. Particularly here in Australia, mainstream nutrition advice and understanding is far, far behind the latest trends and findings. As a competitor in mixed martial arts I found I was able to attain significant health and athletic benefit from incorporating the practise into my regime. From there, I spent about a year or so researching and listening to as much as I could about fasting, and bouncing ideas off my coaches and nutritionist friends. Yes – I don’t have the background of a molecular biologist (I’m actually starting a PhD next year in a totally different field) so when you get down to the nitty-gritty of cellular changes my capacity to truly comprehend what is taking place is limited. However in my opinion this shouldn’t stop people from sharing what they have learned if it can benefit others. Thanks again!
