Hi Ganesh thanks for your comment. It’s a tough question but I think that the solution is going to have to be multi-dimensional. First and foremost I think it’s important that developed countries with the capacity to train and educate people in these STEM related fields form partnerships with developing countries to grow their indigenous capacity for advanced technology business enterprises and research. Companies such as Meltwater — a media intelligence company founded in 2001, are helping in this regard. Meltwater has established a university in Ethiopia that acts as an entrepreneurial training program, seed fund and incubator for African tech startups. These kinds of initiatives have been met with relative success but arguably need to be conducted on larger scales.
