Naturally, a UBI is highly context dependant and its form and function will vary based on the specific needs of countries as you have highlighted. In relation to your point on people taking advantage of the money from a UBI, I agree, under present circumstances some people would use basic income to do as minimal as possible. This is why a UBI has to be rolled at the same time that we address underlying structural and systemic problems in our society that encourage this kind of attitude. That is to wasting an attitude wherein the money received from a UBI is wasted instead of using it as a springboard for doing something meaningful with in life.
