Confirms the idea that their isn’t one true self within the human psyche but rather multiple sites of identity. Brings to mind the distinction between the experiencing self and the narrating self. The former may experience life events but the latter makes the conclusions about the significance of these events and extrapolates the perceived positives or negatives. Thanks for the read Maarten!
