A valid critique, thank you for pointing this out Nic. That darn confirmation bias is difficult to identify and manage, I won’t pretend that I’m immune. Hopefully in the year since I’ve written this piece I’ve gotten better at recognising and accounting for the influence of this heuristic. It’s definitely something I’ve been trying to work on. Unfortunately you don’t seem to have published any work on medium so I am unable to return the favour and keep you in check!
